Rebecca Gouldson is passionate about image-making in metal, through combining and pushing the boundaries of techniques from a variety of creative traditions.

Wall pieces are etched with images of enlarged mono-prints, inspired by aerial views of landscapes and cityscapes.  The prints include areas of energetic mark making, or the patterns of ink as it’s dragged across a glass surface by a roller.

In this new body of work, she’s exploring diverse ways of creating three-dimensional surfaces in metal; creating warm and textural surfaces in what is usually perceived as a cold and utilitarian material.
